Dentures

Missing most or all of your natural teeth can significantly affect your oral function, not to mention your sense of self-esteem.

Redlands Family Dentistry can help. Our natural-looking dentures can restore your ability to eat and speak with confidence.

Dr. Frederick Hoffer in Redlands, CA, can provide traditional or implant-supported dentures to restore your smile.

Traditional vs. Implant-Supported Dentures

We can provide both partial and complete dentures that are either removable or supported by dental implants. There are a few key differences that set traditional dentures and implant-supported dentures apart.

Traditional Dentures

Traditional dentures are removable and rest along the gums. This type of denture relies on suction or denture adhesive to remain securely in place. While traditional dentures are still a great way to replace missing teeth, there is a risk of slippage when you eat or speak.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures are secured directly to dental implants. Dental implants are titanium posts that act as prosthetic tooth roots. Your dentures will remain firmly in place at all times and only need to be removed by a dentist for an exam or replacement.

Dental Implants Offer Incredible Benefits

/

Dental implants are the only restorative dentistry solution that can stop and prevent the jawbone deterioration that occurs with tooth loss. Implants act as artificial tooth roots and stimulate your jawbone to keep it healthy. During your initial consultation at our Redlands, CA, dental office, your dentist can help you determine whether a denture supported by implants is right for you.

Consultation

During your initial consultation at our Redlands dentistry practice, Dr. Hoffer will examine your mouth and discuss your treatment goals to determine if traditional or implant-supported dentures are best for you.

Preparatory Treatment

If you need implant placement, tooth extractions, or other preparatory treatment, it must be completed before your dentures can be placed. Implant placement and extractions will also require some recovery time.

Impressions

We'll take impressions of your mouth so that our trusted lab can craft your custom dentures. This process typically takes two or three days. Our dental practice uses digital impressions, eliminating the need for messy and uncomfortable dental putty.

Fittings and Adjustments

Once your dentures are ready, you will have an appointment for a fitting. This allows your dentist to make adjustments for an optimal fit and comfort. If you are receiving implant-supported dentures, your dentist will secure them to your implants.

Enjoy Your Smile

All that is left to do is to enjoy your beautifully restored smile! Your dentist will provide you with all the information you need to maintain your dentures for years to come.

Take a Closer Look at Partial Dentures

Partial dentures fill in the gaps left by missing teeth. They are secured in place by your remaining natural teeth. With a restored bite, you can eat and speak properly once more.

We Repair Dentures, Too

Do you have an older denture that needs a touch-up to improve its function and appearance? Our partner lab can repair your restorations so they look and feel like new. In some cases, we may be able to complete repairs in-house.
